Kari Brinck was born in Norway in 1963 and grew up in Paris. She studied art at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and at Académie Charpentier in Paris, and went on to take a Bachelor in Marketing at George Washington University in Washington DC. She recently studied art at Københavns Kunstskole.
As an adult she lived in France, Denmark and the USA. This multicultural lifestyle serves as a constant inspiration in her artwork, where different social issues or personal experiences can be a starting point for a new series, being it in painting or sculpture. Her preferred medium is oil on canvas, yet she enjoys experimentation with other materials.
As often as she can, Kari Brinck travels to her studio in Benicia outside of San Francisco. This place serves as a creative space in which she finds time to develop new ideas. Here she participates in Arts Benicia Open Studio once a year and exhibits in the Arts Benicia Gallery as a member of Arts Benicia.
